About Me

Hello & Welcome

I’m Jill Harper-Hill, a therapeutic coach and counsellor with a deep-rooted desire to help individuals reconnect with their authentic selves.

My Journey

I left a 15-year career in secondary education and leadership, feeling fed up and burnt out.

I meet a lot of ex-teachers (there are quite a few of us around) and we all seem to say the same thing, “I loved the kids and the teaching, but it was the other stuff that I just couldn’t live with”.

For me, I realised that what really drives me in life is connecting with others and supporting them to better experience their lives. Because of my own personal experiences with burnout and learning more about my neurodivergence, I feel well-placed to support others who are living these very real lives and working together to learn what it means to find everyday contentment and a sense of happiness.

The meaning of 'wellbeing'and why it's imporant.

Wellbeing means very different things to different people, and the relationship between mind, body and soul develops throughout our lives. What each one of us needs is such a personal blend made up of an almost infinite range of factors.

There is no one-size fits all approach to well being. What works for me might not work for you – and that’s OK!

I’m passionate about increasing awareness of the full range of wellbeing services and practitioners that can be accessed, as well as organisations who are able to invest in providing wellbeing provision for our communities.

There are two main pillars to my methods.

1.

On a personal level, I provide therapeutic coaching and integrative counselling to help people discover their authentic selves and build fulfilling lives. I aim to support people in creating a strong root system as a base, and then find their wings to soar to success!

2.

I also focus on creating a network of services and practitioners who support overall wellbeing, aiming to connect people with the resources they need to address challenges, meet their personal and professional needs, and overcome obstacles.

Qualifications

I love the term ‘squiggly career’ and it’s perfect to describe how I’ve been working.

In my first year of uni, I studied psychology as a third of my combined studies course and as a newly qualified teacher I chose to spend my training funding on completing a certificate in counselling skills. Later, I trained in mindfulness and improvisation which were both life-changing and life-enhancing.

It has been the powerful combination of professional training in both coaching and counselling, however, that has really helped me to understand where I can find my Ikigai.

Ikigai, as I understand it, is an adaptation of a Japanese concept describing the meeting point of where you can make a difference, where you are happy, where you have skill, and where you can generate an income.
